23, Singaporean. 4th year into her learning journey. Started learning Korean in Jan 2008. Took beginner lessons (2 levels) at Singapore Korean School but decided that lessons are too slow and expensive ^^; Self studied from then on. Obtained Level 4 TOPIK and Level 5 KLPT in Dec 2009. Spent a month in 연세 in summer 2010 and a semester in 고려대 in fall 2011. Her favorite spot in the world is 광화문 square, right in front of King Sejong. panjjakpanjjak (Archana)
22, United States, Ph.D. student. Science is her livelihood but language is her passion. An avid lover of all languages, she has experience studying French, Japanese, and Sanskrit. In December 2009, she began studying Korean on her own and has (mostly) never looked at another language since. She enjoys Korean music and dramas and especially enjoys using Korean entertainment and literature to fuel her motivation for language self-study.

22, a foreigner residing in Korea. Self-studied Korean on and off since year 2000. Loves learning Korean but also tried to learn Japanese for a semester. Likes reading about world history and very fascinated with 조선 시대. Taking photos, visiting museums and walking are her favorite things to do in Seoul.

24, Singaporean. Chemistry Graduate. Went to Seoul National University in Fall 2009 for university exchange not knowing Korean, and decided to start learning the language upon returning to Singapore. Spent another 1.5 months in Busan in Spring 2011 under a homestay programme that opened her eyes to a whole new world. An avid lover of travel and food, her all-time favourite Korean dish is 안동찜닭.

25, American living in Ulsan, South Korea. Teaching English in Korea to middle school kids. Enjoys developing langauge acquisition tools. Studied Japanese for 9 months. Enjoys Korean movies and comedy shows. Will start conversation classes at the University of Ulsan this spring. Started learning Korean off and on since December 2010.

27, Filipino. 복학생 taking up BA Linguistics in the University of the Philippines. Started self-studying Korean, casually, in 2007; then took Korean as a language elective in 2010; and is now back to self-studying. Currently taking Mandarin classes. Enjoys watching and subbing Korean dramas and very much interested in Korean culture, history and literature. She is a big fan of Kim Sun Ah – her biggest motivation in learning Korean. Her greatest wish is to set foot in Korea and study Korean there, since her original ‘greatest wish’ (meeting Kim Sun Ah in person and talking to her in Korean) has already came true.

On the wrong side of her 20s, Singaporean. Fell in love with 한글 in ’06, and has been in love ever since. Lived in Korea for 2 years from 2007–2008: studied for a year in KHU in ’07, and worked for a year in ’08. Occasional watcher of K-dramas and casual listener of K-pop. Currently a freelancer who services a few Korean clients, and is glad that she gets to use Korean daily even though she has since left Korea. Makes it a point to return to her second home at least once every year, preferably during the 딸기 season.

That can be true unless you can offer something unique. Often with small businesses the biggest differences are knowledge of the products and customer service. There are locations that a business is destined to fail and it doesn’t matter how good the product is, if no one is willing travel to you. The best place to start is in a district with like businesses or complimentary businesses. If you own a fabric store, the best place could be next to a sewing machine store. You don’t want a place that will not allow trucks to be loaded or unloaded if you have large products.Size of the BuildingThe size of the building you have your business in is important.
